8 Nights of Chrismukkah Night 3: Tara Sivec with Seduction and Snacks

Tara Sivec is back for Tara Sivec day at Ana’s Attic. Earlier, I posted a review of Troubles and Treats (Chocolate Lovers 3) as well as an interview and a giveaway of a signed copy of the book. She is back this evening for the 3rd night of Chrismukkah with a look at the whole Chocolate Lover’s series, a giveaway of the first book, Seduction and Snacks, and Part 2 of my interview.

Tara Sivec is the author of The Chocolate Lovers Series. Nothing has ever made me laugh as hard as these books do. You know how you laugh more hysterically when others are laughing with you? It didn’t matter that I read these alone I snorted, peed a little, choked, snotted and did all kinds of other things trying to hold in my hysterical laughter while reading these books.

Not only that, I fell in love with the characters and want to hang out with all of them. All the time. I DID get to hang with them once. See the whole party with the gang here. But it isn’t enough….

The first book in the series is Seduction and Snacks. See my review (and my tampon incident) here. Tara is GIVING ONE AWAY with this post.

Claire is a twenty-something, single mom that grudgingly helps her best friend sell sex toys while she attempts to make enough money to start her own business to give her foul-mouthed, but extremely loveable (when he’s asleep) toddler a better life.

When Carter, the one-night-stand from her past that changed her life forever, shows up in her hometown bar without any recollection of her besides her unique chocolate scent, Claire will make it a point that he remembers her this time.

With Carter’s undisguised shock at suddenly finding out he has a four-year-old son and Claire’s panic that her stretch marks and slim to none bedroom experience will send the man of her dreams heading for the hills, the pair will do whatever they can to get their happily ever after.

Warning: contains explicit sex, profanity and enough sarcasm to choke a horse. (See my review here)

Book 2 is Futures and Frosting. See my review here: Futures and Frosting was Vagtastic!

Carter, Claire and Gavin have formed the perfect little family. Their friends are getting married and everyone is growing up, maturing and ready to face the future. Or are they?

From bachelorette party hell, porn addictions, dinner roll baseball and botched wedding proposals to finding out everyone’s extended family is chock full of crazy, Carter and Claire begin to question the strength of the ties that bind them. Unfortunately, these ties have nothing to do with fuzzy handcuffs and everything to do with the mounting differences between them.

Will their friends make a mess of things with their inappropriate comments and need to know everything, or will they convince the couple that happily-ever-after sometimes really can start with beer pong?

Book 3 I just reviewed today (see the post before this) Troubles and Treats

Drew and Jenny have spent years being the envy of their friends with their out of control sex lives – well, not really. Mostly it makes their friends want to throw up in their mouths a little.

With two little kids and two busy lives, for the first time, Drew and Jenny aren’t on the same page in the bedroom. Drew will stop at nothing to get his previously amorous wife back in the sack, and Jenny will do anything for a full night of sleep.

Carter and Claire, and Jim and Liz are their usual (un)helpful selves and are full of advice for the discontented duo, wanting nothing more than to help restore order to the usually happy couple’s lives.

In the third and final installment of the Chocolate Lovers Series, will Drew and Jenny find the spark that’s been missing in their marriage, or will the trouble they’re having cause a stickier situation than the time Jenny poured honey all over Drew and he fused himself to a tree?

I asked my 7 year old to come up with a question:
He asked “do you have a dick?” When I told him you were a girl he said  “Maybe she’s gay?” Your response?  Wait, maybe I AM gay!  Why the hell wasn’t I born with a dick??
When I asked him to try again he came up with:
“What’s your favorite type of dick?”  One that stands at attention when commanded.
When he couldn’t think of anything else, he asked
What is your favorite Potato? (Mine was Arby’s potato cakes, but I don’t think I can eat there again without thinking about floppy vaginas)  KFC’s mashed potatoes and gravy.

Tara will also be releasing her new romantic suspense novel, A Beautiful Lie January 3rd, 2013. So we don’t confuse her with her funny persona, she uses the name T.E. Sivec.

He saw her first, but his friend made the move.
She settled for the safer choice, but her heart knew the truth.
They love, they crave, they lie.
Garrett McCarthy, Annabelle Parker, and Milo Roberts were as close as friends could get. They shared in each other’s joy during graduations, promotions, and engagements. They consoled one another through heartache and loss.
When one of the friend’s life is tragically cut short, it’s up to the two left behind to pick up the pieces and find out the truth – no matter the cost. As they slowly start to uncover the nature of his deception, and the very powerful people behind it, they begin to question everyone and everything, even themselves.
Everyone has secrets – some do it for love while others do it for power. Those secrets can change perceptions, alter reality and sometimes destroy lives.
What do you do when you find out your whole life has been a lie?

  1. I love Holiday in Handcuffs!! oh, and Mario Lopez ;)

  2. This probably isn’t too funny, it’s one of those “had to be there” things. My parents had their annual Boxing Day Party (day after Christmas in Canada) and my sister-in-law and I were both feeling anti-social so we stole a bottle of Frangelico and hid in my dad’s car in the garage and proceeded to get tipsy (drunk) We would make covert trips to use the washroom or get ice for our glasses without being seen. We were in our cocoon of Frangelico hazed bliss in the dark garage for about 4 hours, visiting, giggling and imbibing until they started looking for us. We thought it was HILARIOUS. No one else got it! At this very moment, that same sister-in-law is on her way to deliver my niece… maybe I will have some Frangelico in her honour!
    Thanks for the giveaway :)

  3. Funniest thing that happened to me is I pulled a pair of jeans out of the drier to wear for the day and a few hours later I felt like a was dragging something on my shoe. I look down to find a pair of panties sticking out the bottom of my pant leg.

    • I have actually done that myself. I actually felt a lump in my inner thigh while out. When I got up to go to the bathroom to remove it, they came out my leg! LOL
      We are twins!

  4. Valerie Potjeau says:

Let me paint you a picture. I’m about 15 years old, and I’ve invited my new boyfriend over for Hannukah. The whole family is there, and we are going apeshit on my gramma’s latkes. My gramma is sitting at one end of the table talking to her friends, when all we hear is “my grandson bought me the vibrator!” um….wtf gramma? Then my mom announces to the table, “yeah, we’ll I shaved my daughter’s pussy!” Needless to say, that was the end of that boyfriend, but truth be told, you can’t handle us, there’s the door! FYI-gramma was referring to the chair massager my cousin bought her, and my mom was talking about my sister’s cat. True story!

  5. Elf is my all time favorite Xmas movie. So funny

  6. I have to go with Eight Crazy Nights since its really the only Hannukah movie, and because its cracks me up every time I see it

  12. Man, where do I start with this?!!?
    So, funniest holiday moment……..hmmm….Oh, shit!

The year after I graduated from highschool, some friends and I up and moved from our small Indiana town to the big city of Jacksonville, FL. We were getting ready to celebrate our first Thanksgiving away from home, no parents or other family. All 3 of us were feeling homesick for sure, so we each decided to make something that was especially important to our families for the holiday. My dish happened to be yams and marshmallows.I went to the market, bought all of my ingredients, went back home and got to work on my dish. As we’re starting to pile our plates with food, I realized that something was not right. Let me just say that there is a HUGE, let me repeat, HUGE difference between yams, sweet potatos and regular golden potatos. Oh, and some markets carry what is called feed.
Turns out, I bought feed, which basically is something people buy to FEED THEIR ANIMALS……….
Needless to say, it was horribly NASTY and I called my mom and cried for about an hour. Looking back now, I have to laugh because I went back to the market the next day and sure as shit there was a sign posted right in front of the bins of “potatos” stating that they were indeed Feed.

  13. Funniest holiday thing that ever happened was when we were driving down to Florida, my uncle and his family happened to be driving home from Florida, AND it was my dad’s birthday, so we decided to pick a restaurant at a point where we crossed each other.
We ended up at this total conservative, religious restaurant, where there were giant crosses, pamphlets about Jesus saving truckers, etc. We asked for some coffee and dessert, and we asked if they could put a candle on my dad’s cake. They told us they don’t keep candles, because it was against their beliefs… so we stuck a fork in my dad’s cake and he pretended to blow it out as we sang happy birthday. The waiters shushed us. I guess that was against their beliefs too!

I couldnt stop laughing one of my sister in laws couldnt stop laughing and callin me a bitch.. good times good times. lol
